Macadam Review – Does It Pay You For Walking?
Hello everyone, It’s David here, I hope you are doing well.
Welcome to my Macadam review article.
They say walking 10,000 steps daily makes a difference in fitness achievements.
But then to obtain the best result, you have to be consistent.
Hence, it’s always viable to utilize apps that keep track of your step counts, calorie management, and the time spent to achieve a fitness accomplishment.
One of the best apps is none other than Google Fit.
If walking is your primary fitness activity, you may already be using it.
There are also many pedometer apps available on Google Play and Apple iOS.
One of them is called Macadam.
The core uniqueness of this app is that it allows users to earn real money simply by walking.
Hence, it’s relatively popular.
At the time of writing, it has already been downloaded more than one hundred thousand times.
That’s staggering!
Maybe you are also interested in the potential monetary reward.
So, how does it even work?
More importantly, can you really earn by doing the physical activity that you love?
Let’s find out the answers in this review.
What Is Macadam?
Macadam is a pedometer cum rewarding app available on Google Play.
Yeah, that’s right.
This app offers various tasks for you to earn besides walking.
It’s free and doesn’t require you to link any bank cards or credit card details.
So, right from the start, it already offers a good impression.
To get started, you can either register a new account with an email address or your Google account.
Next, you are required to sync your Google Fit to the app.
Google will ask you for permission.
When you grant consent, Macadam will immediately synchronize your fitness data directly with Google Fit.
Moving forward, all your step counts, fitness achievements, and relevant fitness data will be retrieved accurately with Google Fit.
After that, you can begin to embark on an exciting walking journey!
As a token of appreciation for welcoming you aboard, the app will reward you with 100 coins.
Coins are earnable primarily from walking.
They are also earnable by participating in various tasks in the app.
How Do You Earn With Macadam?
Maybe, your primary reason for downloading this app is to earn monetary rewards.
It’s relatively understandable.
The feeling of earning an additional income is always very fulfilling.
I’ve summarized all the methods to earn in the app.
Let’s explore each of them individually.
Walk and keep walking
Walking is the primary task to do in the app.
Since it’s also a pedometer app that has synced with Google Fit, your step counts will be accurately shown in the dashboard.
When you accomplish a specific milestone, coins will be rewarded.
For example, your first mission is to walk for 2500 steps.
That’s your first achievable milestone and you will earn 25 coins.
Subsequently, higher coins will be offered.
So, your task is to walk and walk preferably with consistency.
Why?
First, you get to earn coins faster.
Second, it helps to accomplish your desired fitness goals.
Simply put, the more you walk, the more coins will be rewarded.
Soon, you will realize that you need to walk for an extremely long distance to redeem the anticipated payout.
I will elaborate more in just a moment.
One thing to take note of is that you have to validate your steps before coins are rewarded.
Simply swipe the validation bar to the right to complete the validation process.
Participate in survey tasks
Macadam has collaborated with reputable market research companies such as CPX Research.
Every survey has different requirements.
For example, an advertiser might only be interested in individuals with specific skills, age, gender, and disposable income.
So, if you are a good fit for any advertisers or researchers, you will be offered the survey tasks relevant to them.
Relevancy is the key to earning with the survey tasks.
And you will need to go through a prerequisite evaluation also known as profiling.
It’s a process to gather the relevant data to identify whether you are a good fit or otherwise.
Also, the app will show you an estimated time to complete the specific survey you are qualified to participate in.
It will also show you potential reapable coins.
Let’s take a look below.
Watch video ads
Watching video ads is one of the main sources of income for many unattractive rewarding game developers.
But it’s a different scenario with Macadam.
Why?
Well, Macadam doesn’t forcefully show video ads to you.
Instead, it offers video ads as optional tasks.
You can decide for yourself whether to participate or not.
Typically, you will be shown ads within the make money online vertical.
Refer others to walk and earn
You can supposedly earn coins by referring people who are also fans of walking.
It doesn’t get any sweeter than that!
As compensation, you will receive 500 coins for each referred to the app.
Likewise, your referrals will also earn.
But they will earn a doubled amount at 1000 coins!
As you can see, it’s a win-win scenario.
There’s no reason for someone to reject your invitation if he or she is also a fitness enthusiast.
If you are skillful in the art of persuasion, your coin accumulation will be amplified.
Challenge yourself to reach new milestones
Whenever you walk, you can achieve new walking milestones.
Every time you reach a specific milestone, coins will be rewarded.
So, the more you achieve, the more coins you earn.
After all, you need to walk long distances to keep earning virtual coins.
Play games
Macadam has collaborated with three platforms that provide games for you to play and earn coins.
They are:
– IronSource
– ayeT
– Adjoe
All of them offer different coin rewards.
The first two platforms offer coins when you accomplish specific tasks during gameplay.
For example, you may need to defeat certain bosses or reach certain levels to unlock coin redemption.
Adjoe, on the other hand, offers rewards based on playtime.
Yeah, you will receive coins every minute as you play any of the offered games dynamically.
The types of games vary from user to user.
It also depends on the geographical area and the active campaigns game developers are running.
Here’s a game example.
With this example, players can earn 61 coins every minute.
This is just an illustration of the possible earnable coins.
How Do You Get Paid?
Macadam is very straightforward when it comes to redeeming real payouts.
As soon as you reach 30,000 coins, you can unlock payout eligibility.
30,000 steps are equivalent to $15.
And the good news is that the app developer will process the payout quickly when you reach the threshold.
Now, let’s elaborate on the realistic scenario.
Say your sole intention is to walk and earn coins.
That’s cool.
Everyone knows that walking can lead to a healthier life.
You need to walk 10,000 steps to earn 100 coins.
That seems like an easy task especially if walking has become your daily routine.
But then, how about cumulatively?
It may take some time to reach.
Why?
Well, if you do the math, to unlock the payout threshold of $15, you have to walk three million steps!
I’ve done a “steps to kilometers conversion” with Convert Units.
Let’s take a look below.
As you can see, it’s 2286 km!
It’s insane, right?
Imagine if you walk 10,000 steps daily, it will take you approximately 300 days to unlock the $15 payout.
This scenario is only applicable if you walk consecutively for 300 days.
If you take breaks in between, it will take an even longer time to earn $15.
Personally, I think it’s not worth it.
Unless you are solely into walking and disregard the monetary compensation completely.
Therefore, if earning money is your sole reason to use the app, you will be disappointed.
Take back the “10,000 steps” example again.
Averagely, you only earn 5 cents daily.
How about if you walk less than 10,000 steps, or take breaks in between, your average daily earnings will be lesser than 5 cents
The Pros – What I like About Macadam
- Legitimate app
- Offers numerous ways to earn
- Doesn’t offer fake lucrativeness
The Cons – What I Dislike About Macadam
- It may take a long time to earn $15
My Final Thoughts
Macadam is unique when compared to most unattractive rewarding apps.
Firstly, it doesn’t offer fake lucrativeness to lure in massive users.
Normally, those fake rewarding apps will implement hidden intentions to monetize solely for the developers.
With Macadam, it isn’t the case.
Secondly, it’s a pedometer app at its core.
It means that it does track all your walking progressions to optimize your fitness goals.
That is what I can digest after a deep exploration to discover the app.
And the developer is kind enough to offer a fairly predictable monetary reward when you reach certain walking milestones.
So, if you are solely into walking, you might just disregard the payout completely.
I’ve explained all my arguments earlier.
Three million steps just to earn $15?
To me, I would say no thanks.
Still, I will continue to walk to stay fit and healthy.
But then, if you are willing to participate in all the additional tasks I mentioned earlier, the time needed to unlock payouts could be significantly reduced.
At the time of writing, this app looks pretty decent and has no signs of fishiness.
That’s a good thing.
Now, if you ask me, David, are there much better alternatives to earn money online?
Well, the answer is yes, there are.
I highly suggest you check out my Freecash review, it’s a detailed article on everything about the platform, specifically the earning parts.
Freecash is arguably one of the best rewarding platforms in the world.
It’s phenomenal in every aspect, and more importantly, there are plethoras of ways to earn coins that are redeemable for lots of rewards including cash withdrawals.
Additionally, I also encourage you to check out my PrizeRebel review.
It’s also my top recommendation when it comes to generating extra income online.
You can participate in various tasks such as surveys to kickstart your earning journey.
So, I hope you found this review article helpful and informative.

I have been doing well with Macadam until they signed me out after I had already earned 650 coins! Now getting back into the app is a problem because the link for resetting the password doesn’t work!!!
